Hip Hop

Terpsichorean Dance Studio offers the following classes in Hip Hop. Please see the Class Schedule for specific day, time and teacher information.

Funkology I (8-11 yr)
8-11 yrs (January 1, 2011 age cut off). Learn the basics of rhythm and beat, some simple routines to develop an understanding of hip hop. Students will learn old school and modern moves as well as basic jazz and stage presence. By working together, the class learns how to be a performer both individually and as a group.
Ages: 8 - 11

Funkology II
(11-14 yrs old January 1, 2012 age cut off). The next level of movement and more complicated choreography. 1 year dance experience preferred but not required.
Ages: 11 - 14

Funkology III
(12 yrs. old +, 2 years dance experience required or beginning teens & adults) Learning more forms of Hip Hop dancing, incorporating break styles and pop locking
Ages: 12 - Adult

Funkology Crew I
(invitation or audition only, enrollment in Jazz Tech or other dance forms required) Learning and perfecting various styles of the Hip Hop dance genre, including but not limited to break, pop and lock, funk, street, and New York styles.
Ages: 13 - 18
