Terspichorean Dance Studio and Company, Bend, Oregon
In ancient Greek mythology, the muse, Terpsichore, was the inspiration to dancers.  Her name translates joy in the dance.

Faculty

Carolyn Brant has directed the Terpsichorean Dance Studio since 1975. Following 14 years of private study in Eugene, Ore., she studied dance, choreography and dance education at Stephens College, Columbia, Mo. and the University of Oregon. In addition to seeing thousands of students pass through the Terpsichorean Dance Studio, she has given years of choreography to various theatre groups and schools in the Bend area.

Dee Dee Burzynski has been an instructor and choreographer for the past 18 years, 15 of those years at Terpsichorean. She brings with her 9 years of professional training and performance experience with Marin Ballet, Keith Martin Ballet and Pacific Northwest Ballet. Her mission is to strengthen the student’s technical abilities and knowledge of Ballet while nurturing the love of movement in classical and contemporary forms. DeeDee's broad knowledge of dance and related subjects will enhance our beginning through advanced student's education.

Aprille Chadwell has been teaching at the Terpsichorean Dance Studio for the past 15 years. She has studied Jazz for 21 years as well a Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Tap and Hip Hop. As a teacher, she brings a level of enthusiasm and dedication that will challenge and inspire her students, and as a choreographer she hopes her passion for expressing one’s self through dance will be instilled in all of her students.

Kathleen "Kathie" Pfalz danced with various ballet companies in Southern California as a child. She was accepted into the American School of Dance in LA at age 11 and was the youngest dancer to be asked to attend the choreography workshops of Eugene Lauwring. She has studied extensively in ballroom, ballet, tap, jazz, modern and belly dancing. Kathie has also worked over the years as a choreographer, voice coach, singer, dancer and actor in the LA area. She has performed as a Disneyland dancer, a Ram's Vicount Dancer, toured as a dancer with an award winning jazz band, worked with a "sign" and dance group and has appeared in numerous musicals and ballets.

Lindsey Beltran began her career as a tap dancer 17 years ago. She has trained with many of the great tap masters, including Savion Glover, Buster Brown, Diane Walker, Brenda Buffalino and many more. Lindsey began dancing at the age of 5 at the Terpsichorean Dance Studio and has returned to her roots to share her love of dance.

Shelley Weeda has been with the Terpsichorean Dance Studio for 18 years, and as a teacher for the last 8. She has trained in hip hop, modern, ballet, tap, contemporary & jazz. Shelley has performed with and choreographed for many dance and theatrical groups in Bend and has traveled to Seattle and San Francisco for training with groups Bazillion Modern, Funk-ology and the hip hop crew Flo-Ology. She brings new, fresh and exciting choreography to the studio and that helps students do what they love. Dance!!

Kye Johnson has been with the Terpsichorean Dance Studio for 17 years, teaching for the last 8. She has trained in tap, Jazz Ballet, Modern, Lyrical, Theatre, and Stomp. Kye has performed with and choreographed for several dance and theatrical groups in Bend. Kye teaches a classic rhythm style as well as New Age Tap. She incorporates high energy into her classes and creates a positive atmosphere for her students. Kye is enthusiastic and wishes to share her love of dance with her students.

Dakota Weeda has been dancing with the Terpsichorean Dance Studio for 11 years and has completed his first year of teaching. He has trained in tap, rhythm tap, hip hop & jazz. Dakota is an enthusiastic dancer who brings his love of dance and experience to the students.

Bonnie Walker directed Fish Hawk Wing | Modern Dance, a modern dance and dance improvisation performance group in Bend, Oregon from 2008 - 2011. She began dancing at the age of 6, minored in Dance at Smith College and has been taking classes and volunteering at the studio since 2005.

Teachers may move students between levels as they see fit, and always have the final decision on class placement.
